Kids Music, Rhythm & Drumming Classes

with DrumConnection and N.E.C. Faculty

 

Spring 2017 Semester begins Sundays - June 4 - July 23, 2017 (6 sessions) (each class apron 40-45mins)

 

• 10:00 am for the 3-5 year olds

&

• 11:00 am for the 6-8 year olds

 

Parents, this is your chance to introduce or continue your children in better and healthy brain development, listening skills, and organization and categorizing development. Music gives your child a full experience that is wholesome and most importantly engaging and FUN! Kids African Drum and Music Class

 

Children's Drumming, Rhythm and Movement classes are being offered on Sunday mornings. Please don't wait as we have reason to believe this will sell out fast. 

 

Hand Drums and other instruments are supplied but feel free to bring your child's favorite percussion instrument for a more bonding experience that can continue at home. Classes are approximately 40-45 minutes.

 

Kids Drumming -

When you REGISTER: 1. You will select the grade you want 3-5 yrs or 6-8 years. 2. You will receive a confirmation email followed up with a note from me with complete information you may need. That will include parking, local coffee shops to spend some downtime, etc.

Payment -

You may pay by credit card online, by check to 'Alan Tauber' and mail to: DrumConnection PO Box 1311, Arlington, MA 02474 or by cash or check at our school at 177 Mass. Ave., Arlington, MA 02474. Advance registration is required. Limited enrollment.

Audrey has been teaching with DrumConnection since 2000 and remains one of the top teachers for all levels of players. Whether you experience her teaching beginners or advanced drummers, you will learn a lot and have a great time in the process.

 

Audrey has been actively engaged in creating and teaching kids drumming classes at many of the local public and private schools in the area,

Lautaro Mantilla

NEC Instructor, Community Outreach Dept Head, Specialist in Childrens Development.

 

Lau is a really personable young man who loves working with kids of all ages. From body percussion to movement, he will help your child's development while having lots of fun and big smiles.

 

Lautaro Mantilla is a guitarist, composer, and drum and percussion improviser from Bogota, Colombia. He has a B.A. in classical guitar from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Colombia.)  an M.M. with Honors in Contemporary Improvisation, and a G.D. in CI Composition.

 

 

He has performed both his music and the music of others in major institutions and venues such as Harvard University, MIT, NEC, the Teatro Colon, Teatro Jorge Eliecer Gaitan, Biblioteca Luis Angel Arango, among others in the U.S. and South America.

Laura Smith is an artist, expressive arts therapist and educator deeply commited to nurturing individual and collective growth through creativity. She has been designing and facilitating creative processes with schools, communities, and individuals for over a decade thoughout the US, Central America and China.  

 

Her work uses a myriad of expressive resources, including community murals and therapeutic drumming, to promote healing, dialogue, healthy development  & transformation.

 

Current murals and intermodal arts initiatives exist in China, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington and Chelsea.
