Guinea's Foreign Minister Francois Lounceny Fall, has denied the existence of a "border conflict’’ between his country and Cote d'Ivoire, contrary to rumours circulating in Conakry in the last fewdays.

This was  contained in a statement published in the local press. The minister said that in the last few days, some local media have been publishing unconfirmed information alleging the existence of a "border conflict’’ between Cote d' Ivoire and Guinea around Kpeyaba village in neighbouring Cote d'Ivoire.

Given the situation, the Guinean government decided to come out and reiterate the reciprocal mutual understanding that characterises the friendly relations between the two countries.

Fall said that the relation between the two countries is characterised by peaceful co-existence between the populations living near the border.
