Fanta Keita Tauber
Mafanko, Guinea
Fanta is an engaging spirit from Guinea who will be teaching the women’s version of Doundounba (the strongmen’s dance). She will teach the Dundounba as danced in the traditional way. Live drumming as well as singing the rhythms will take place. While Doundounba can be complicated, we believe this important dance should be leaned as one of the first dances and we will make it easy and fun.
The Doundounba Dance is a traditional dance from Guinea and Mali. There are many versions of Doundounba in West Africa. We will be learning a version as danced in many villages of Guinea especially the village of Sangbarala as brought to Conakry.
For beginners as well as more advanced dancers.
