ADULT CLASSES for Beginners to Mixed-Level Drumming Classes

Learn the language of the drum in this lively, hands-on course. We'll explore the rhythms of West Africa, Cuba, and Brazil, and see how drumming can be used for communication, expression, and inner attunement.

Unleash your musical ability as we find our drumming voices together. We'll learn authentic, indigenous rhythms on the conga, ashiko, and djembe drums.

Each student will receive individual attention. No prior musical training is necessary. Bring a hand drum to the first session. We suggest a djembe or ashiko drum.

If you don't own a drum, you can rent one from The DrumConnection. A credit card is required to secure a rental drum. (You don’t need to pay with a credit card, but we need it for security). A $5 materials fee will be collected to cover the cost of a workbook and written materials.

Hand Drumming for Beginners

Beginner classes are offered throughout the greater Boston area. They provide a thorough introduction to hand drumming technique, exploring rhythms in multiple parts and learning to make music as a group. They are fun, community based, stress-buster evenings that can help you deal with the week ahead. Drum rentals available at contact@drumconnection.com
