Drumming helps kids deal with challenges, develops cognitive reasoning, and is tons of fun! We’ll introduce you to the hand drumming of West Africa, Cuba and Brazil. 

Starting with basic stick patterns, we’ll quickly move on to the djembe and conga drums. You’ll learn how to make all the sounds of hand percussion. In a short time, the class will sound like a real African village! Drums will be provided.

Doors will open 15 minutes before class time. Your child must be picked up within 15mins of the end of class. We cannot be responsible for children left behind after 15 minutes.

Please note: Although our address is Massachusetts Avenue, our main entrance is located on Appleton, where street parking is available. The Arlington house is located in Arlington Heights near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Park Avenue.

From Rt 2, take exit 58: Park Avenue Exit toward Arlington. From Rt 2 East turn left onto Park Avenue, and from Rt 2 West, turn right onto Park Avenue. Follow Park Ave for about half a mile, pass a traffic light, and take the next right onto Appleton. The Children's Room is located on the left at the end of Appleton where it meets Mass Ave.

Coming from Arlington Center and Rte 60, traveling on Massachusetts Avenue towards Arlington Heights, you will see our bright yellow house, where Mass Ave and Appleton intersect, a little less than two miles from Arlington Center. When you are approaching The Children's Room, bear left onto Appleton.

Coming from Lexington and the Arlington Heights area, turn right on Richardson at the Dunkin Donuts and then left on Appleton and follow Appleton to the end where it meets Mass Ave. The Children's Room is the last house on the left.
